  1. 2023 · The start

    Learning to build

    After years shaping digital products inside media companies, our founder began building AI systems himself, starting with a prompt engineering course from Vanderbilt University.

  2. First product

    MetaGen

    An early demo that generated article metadata. Newsroom leaders saw it and said they would use it, and pay for it. Wizzardzz grew out of that response.

  3. First writing system

    WritePod

    An early AI writing system used by publications. It proved that drafting could follow a desk’s rules, and became the basis for DraftOne.

    Focused newsroom APIs for metadata, claim checking and iterative research, now the engines inside our products.

    WIZ, and Meta approval

    Becoming an approved Meta technology provider for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook made WIZ possible: task management inside WhatsApp.
